Security as architecture, not compliance
Most enterprise software treats security as a compliance requirement — a set of checkboxes to satisfy before a sale. Adaptive Intelligence treats security as an architectural requirement — a set of constraints that shaped every design decision from the beginning. The difference matters because compliance-driven security produces systems that satisfy auditors. Architecture-driven security produces systems that are actually secure.
Blockchain audit logs
Every data access event in Adaptive XI Intelligence is recorded in an immutable blockchain audit log. This means that every time a student record is accessed, modified, or exported — and by whom, from where, and at what time — there is a cryptographic record that cannot be altered retroactively. For institutions that have experienced FERPA compliance incidents with other platforms, this is not an abstract benefit. It is the difference between being able to demonstrate compliance and hoping nothing went wrong.
Encryption
All student data is encrypted at rest using AES-256 and in transit using TLS 1.3. Student learning models — the most sensitive data in the system — are cryptographically isolated per institution. The model built from one institution's students cannot be accessed or used to benefit another institution's product, even within the Impartial AI infrastructure.
FERPA compliance
FERPA requires that student education records be accessed only for legitimate educational purposes by designated school officials. Adaptive XI Intelligence's closed ecosystem architecture makes FERPA compliance structurally enforced rather than procedurally enforced. There is no way to accidentally share student data with an advertising partner because there are no advertising partners. There is no way for a third-party integration to access student records because there are no third-party integrations in the student-facing environment.
HIPAA and COPPA
For institutions that handle health-related student data, Adaptive Intelligence supports HIPAA-compliant data handling. For K-12 institutions serving students under 13, COPPA compliance is built in — no collection of personal information beyond what is educationally necessary, no behavioral advertising, no data sharing with third parties.
On-site deployment
For institutions with strict data residency requirements, Adaptive Intelligence supports full on-premises deployment. The entire platform — including the AI inference layer — can run within an institution's own infrastructure, with no data leaving the institutional network.
ADA 508 accessibility
Adaptive Intelligence is built to WCAG 2.1 AA standards and Section 508 compliance. Every student interface — including AI-generated content and assessments — is screen reader accessible, keyboard navigable, and designed to work with assistive technologies.
